A massive thank you to all of our Big Buskers who took to the stage in Frank Owens last week to help kick off the Danny Boy Festival and raise some money for Cancer Focus.
As part of Stendhal’s workshop and community outreach programmes, our music making workshop evolved into The Big Busk and brings together a host of local musicians who come together on their free time to bring a little music to the community, wandering the bars and streets of the town to help raise money for charity.
The gig at Franks was their first official gig under the Big Busk banner, in which the members played several individual sets as solo artists, duo’s and new bands, before delivering a fantastic finale where everyone took to the stage to perform together.
They raised almost £200 on the night and have raised £326 in total thanks to a couple of merry jaunts around Limavady over the past few weeks.
Stendhal would like to thank all the guys for their time, efforts and talents, particularly Don Riley and Peter Simmons for organising everything and doing such a stellar job in drumming up a great crowd at Franks last week and the delightful Pete Vamos for sorting the sound.
Big thanks to all who came along and gave so generously too. You guys are awesome.
Stay tuned to Stendhalfestival.com for news of more upcoming Big Busk performances.
