Stendhal Festival and Kilkeel based musical instrument manufacturer Ruach Music have today announced that they are joining forces, with Ruach set to host the Woodtown Stage at the multi-award winning event in Limavady this August.
Ruach Music grew from Director Stephen Henderson’s inability to afford a Cajon at the age of 16. Since he couldn’t buy one, he made one and the rest is history.
He set up a company in 2013 while completing his A-Levels and was soon supplying Cajons, kick-pedals, stomp-boxes and pedal boards to companies throughout Ireland, the UK and the rest of the word.
Presently Ruach Music are expanding their manufacturing facility and supply chain, continually listening to their customers and the market – working hard to bring out new products and accessories for them to enjoy.
Ruach Music now offer Handmade Electric Guitars, Exotic Hardwood Effects Pedals, Hardwood, Tolex and Tweed Pedalboards, Cajons and more.
Ross Parkhill of Stendhal Festival said that the parallels between how Stephen got Ruach up and running and how Stendhal evolved meant that it was a ‘no brainer’ that the companies should collaborate.
“When we met Stephen and heard his story, we emphasised with it straight away and immediately admired how he had taken his passion to the next level.
“Stendhal has always prided itself on highlighting Northern Irish artists so to be able this year to also highlight one of the finest teams of instrument craftspeople in the country, adds another element to how we showcase Northern Irish talent within the music industry at the event.
“We are delighted that Ruach will be hosting the Woodtown Stage this summer, the team there already do a lot of fantastic work alongside a host of Northern Irish Musicians and this is a great opportunity for everyone to find out a bit more about what Ruach is all about.”
Stephen Henderson of Ruach Music added:
“We are very excited to be partnering with Stendhal to present the Ruach Woodtown Stage. Ruach exists to provide quality musical instruments for artists to enjoy and a trusted platform for new music to be discovered online.
The Woodtown Stage set in the woodlands of Stendhal Festival is the perfect “natural” extension to Ruach’s mission statement and I am excited to see what this collaboration brings to both the Festival and the wider music community moving forward.”
