Stendhal officially The Best Small Festival in Ireland

Celebrations for Stendhal Festival as it picks up Best Small Festival Gong
Limavady’s Stendhal Festival of Art has been voted as Ireland’s Best Small Festival for the year 2013 at the annual Irish Festival Awards.
The event which celebrated its third year in 2013 faced some strong competition to win the prize and flies the flag for Northern Ireland as the only sole winner from the province this year.
Other winners included Republic of Ireland based Electric Picnic and Longitude, and Arthur’s Day which takes place all over Ireland.
Project Director of the festival, Ross Parkhill says that the whole team is thrilled to have been recognised alongside such illustrious events and paid tribute to everyone involved.
“Winning the award has been a wonderful surprise, we were absolutely delighted to have been nominated in three categories and thrilled to have been voted as Ireland’s Best Small Festival for last year.
“It is brilliant to have everyone’s hard work recognised in this manner, we have a huge team of volunteers who give us so much to bring the festival to life every summer, so a massive thank you to everyone on Team Stendhal, you have done us and Limavady proud.”
Ross added: “To be listed alongside events like Electric Picnic is something we could only have dreamed of when we started the festival and to pick up this award with the likes of Glasgowbury in the same category is just amazing.
“Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for us, we are humbled by your support and this will only spur us on as we look forward to this August and beyond.”
