The Nerve Village at Stendhal Festival

For the past five years Stendhal has been working side by side with the awesome team from the Nerve Centre in Derry/Londonderry.
The Nerve Centre is Northern Ireland’s leading creative media arts centre. More than 120,000 people a year benefit from the its wide-ranging programme of arts events, cutting edge projects, creative learning centres, training opportunities and state-of-the-art production facilities.
A successful social economy enterprise, the Nerve Centre employs more than 40 staff at sites in Derry/Londonderry and Belfast.
The goal of the collaboration has been to encourage young people to engage in all elements of the music industry from being in a band to rigging stages and give them a major platform to both gain experience and make a name for themselves.
This year this wonderful tradition continues thanks to the Nerve Centre Youth Breakout Stage which is running all weekend.
Young participants from Nerve Centre projects such as The Music Hothouse and Set The Stage will be on and behind the stage in what has become a wonderful platform for young talent of all kinds at Stendhal.

Nerve Village arrives at Stendhal

This year, to celebrate our 5th year of partnership the Nerve Centre are expanding their presence at Stendhal from a stage to a Village.
Expect to be entertained, digitised and virtually realised in our creative space in the gorgeous surrounds of Stendhal.

The upgraded Youth Breakout Stage will run across all three days, showcasing young budding musicians from the Nerve Centre’s various music programmes including; Music Hothouse, Set The Stage, Get Started with Music and their partners from Pulse & Tuned In.
In addition, there will be film screenings in association with Foyle Film Festival and our Ones to Watch young programmers, along with hands on creative workshops for kids of all ages in animation, digital fabrication, green screen, T shirt printing and more.
