What is Stendhal looking for?

We are looking for anyone with a passion for any of the various elements required to bring Stendhal Festival to life, including practical skills and love of music and/or art.
Most importantly we are looking for people who want to become part of our Stendhal Community.

Initially we are looking to recruit volunteers to help us in the following roles:

The Hospitality Team

The role of the hospitality team is to ensure that our guests in the glamping area of the festival are catered for and given the first class experience the glamping area promises.

Band Liaisons

The Band Liaisons are responsible for welcoming the 100’s of musicians and artists who participate in the event each year and making sure they know the where’s what’s and when’s of their performance.

Traffic Management

The traffic management team play a key role in helping guests to the festival arrive and leave safely, while also ensuring that vehicles requesting site access are checked for clearance and given direction.

Stagehands

Our team of stagehands are right at the heart of the action, working alongside our Stage managers, riggers, sound teams and band Liaisons. They help ensure that performances over the weekend go off without a hitch.

Drivers

Drivers roles vary from ferrying people and equipment from point a to point b, assisting in vehicle recovery from mud, carrying out various tasks as and when required from the festival management. Licences Required.

General Stewarding

Ensuring the safety of our festival goers, making sure they do not wander into areas which are off limits and providing assistance whenever and however you can.

Site Artwork

Stendhal is proud of the fact that the majority of our onsite signage, dressing and curios are hand made by our fantastic team of artists. If you have a passion for painting, sculpting, building or creating, we would love you to join our artist team.

Age
Any volunteers that are 16 on the date of the festival can be “buddied” with an older volunteer or can bring along a guardian. The guardian will have to buy a separate ticket and will have to remain with the volunteer at all times during their shift.

The preferred age for volunteers is 18 but please have a chat to us if you are between 16 and 18 and keen to participate.

Time Commitment
Stendhal Sundays are our main festival build days starting from around June 1st and continuing until the event itself.
You can choose to volunteer in the lead up to and during the festival, or just for the event itself (see shift details above).
If you just wish to volunteer during the event you will still need to attend an induction day prior to the event so we can show you the ropes.

Guaranteeing attendance
In the past we have had issues with volunteers signing up to help out and then simply not show up for shifts. This of course puts a huge strain on the rest of the team. In order to ensure that this does not happen we require that all volunteers purchase a ticket prior to the event and once we confirm that you have shown up to complete your shifts, we refund the ticket price to you post event. It is unfortunately the best way we can ensure that people don’t abuse the volunteer system.
