Stendhal Festival is a multi-award winning music and Arts Festival which takes place each year in the stunning, scenic surroundings of Ballymully Cottage Farm, Limavady.
We celebrate all things creative and programme an eclectic weekend of music, poetry, comedy, dance, theatre, contemporary and traditional arts, sculpture, street performance, craft, workshops and a dedicated family programme.
Established in 2011, Stendhal has grown from strength to strength each year since it began and has witnessed a celebrated mix of a who’s who of international and local talent and a plethora of undiscovered gems, adorn our 8 stages over the years.
The Divine Comedy, The Undertones, Frightened Rabbit, Badly Drawn Boy, Therapy? DJ Yoda, SAOK, Turin Brakes, Henry McCullough, Mundy, Donovan, DJ Format, Kerbdog, Paddy Casey, Bronagh Gallagher and hundreds more acts can count themselves as Stendhal Alumni. As can celebrated Comedians such as Sara Pascoe, Shane Todd and John Mahoney.
Stendhal is at heart a community venture, set up to bring something special to Limavady, Land of Danny Boy, and survives due to an incredibly dedicated team of volunteers who we are proud to call our friends.
Proud to serve all sections of the community, Stendhal is proud to be a family friendly festival that strives to introduce the arts to a new generation.

Our mission at Stendhal is to establish ourselves as an innovative promoter of the arts. We believe passionately that creativity is the seed of innovation and that by establishing an event open to all will act as a driver toward a more positive landscape for tomorrows innovators.
Our vision is to drive growth in arts participation and the many beneficial outcomes this can bring to individuals and communities. Facilitate a greater creative base and thus develop innovation in the region, broadening opportunity for tomorrow’s generation. Stendhal Festival Ltd is a constituted not for profit vehicle with ambitions of becoming a Co-operative. As possibly the first stakeholder owned festival of its type we wish to not only promote the arts but a more collaborative approach toward sustainable social enterprise with long term benefits to many.
